| okay...: so why excentryke? well, I would think that was obvious. When I was eight I latched onto the word like nothing else because it was finally a term I could use to define myself that was something other than odd, strange, or weird (middle english wyrd, which has a different meaning entirely). I briefly had a childlike love affair with the term queer, but I learnt that that term had specific connotations that I couldn't quite grasp and were best left to discover *later* in life. So here I am. Eccentric. That's me. I've become less eccentric over the years as I've settled into my own skin. But the term still applies. |
